Welcome to the Old Wymondhamians, the official link between past pupils and staff and the College.
Every former student, member of staff or Governor of Wymondham College is considered an Old Wymondhamian.
The Old Wymondhamians Committee works hard to maintain contact with all former pupils and staff and also preserve the history and heritage of the College and its previous life as a USAAF hospital in the Second World War. We organise and coordinate reunions, networking, sporting and other social events.
The ‘OWs’ also help raise much needed funds to support the College and students. Please do take a moment to join the 100 Club, where from just £5pm you will both help with fund raising and also have a chance to win some fabulous monthly prizes too. Many Old Wymondhamians are also increasingly considering giving via regular and/or one-off donations and via a legacy in their will.

Former Student wins prestigious Emmy News Award!
Abigail Daisy Morgan, who attended Wymondham College as a boarder from
2005 to 2011, has won an Emmy News Award in the United States for
investigative journalism.
Her award-winning investigation, The Zombie Debts Making Wall Street
Rich, explored a hidden housing crisis sweeping across the United
States, revealing how debt collectors are reviving long-forgotten
mortgages in order to seize homes. The project examined how outdated
laws and aggressive debt collection tactics have left millions of
Americans at risk. You can watch it here:

After leaving Wymondham College, Abigail studied American and Canadian
Literature, History and Politics at the University of Nottingham. As
part of her degree, she spent a year at the University of Arizona
studying journalism before graduating in 2015.
Following university, she worked for two years at Al Jazeera Media
Network in Doha, Qatar, before joining Bloomberg News in 2017. She is
now a Supervising Producer, creating human-focused stories across
Bloomberg’s digital media platforms.
A truly fantastic achievement by Abigail and we send her many congratulations.
2026 marks an extraordinary milestone for us — 75 years of Wymondham College.
This message from the College:
Our sincere apologies, we have made the decision to cancel the Wymondham College 75th Anniversary Fundraising Ball on 17th October.
Unfortunately, we were not able to sell sufficient tickets to cover the cost of the event, so we have had to cancel it. We appreciate in the current economic climate, it was quite a commitment for guests.
We are deeply grateful for your support and are still keen to mark our 75th anniversary and celebrate together, and will be back in touch about a potential summer party in due course.

September 2026 – 100 Club
The September 2026 OW 100 club draw was carried out on Wednesday 23rd September 2026 at The Farmhouse in Norwich.
This month’s winners were: –
Andrew Ramsay – £ 60.00 – resident of Dorking
Vic Laird – £ 60.00 – resident of Tonbridge, Kent
Alan Bridges – £ 30.00 – resident of Long Stratton
Steve Read & Phil Robinson were joined by: Sandra Howard; Guy Pettit; Lynne Pettit [Semmens]; Simon Turtle, Robin Postle, John Watson, Colin Farrington, Joanna Voelker [Bassingthwaighte]; Clare Marshall [Cooke]; Eileen Wyatt [Pearson]; Steve Human &, our special guest from Canada, Stella Howchin [Sparks].
The draw was kindly carried out by Stella.
The Farmhouse was very accommodating as we took over an area of their establishment and moved tables around etc.
Again, the majority of attendees were from the mid-1960’s – early 1970’s era.
As usual the chat was easy & there was lots of catching up to do especially with those that hadn’t seen each other in a while.
The October OW 100 club draw will be held at The Crown in Great Ellingham on Wednesday 21st October 2026 at 7.30pm.

The November OW 100 club draw will be held at The Noon Gun [formerly The Canary & Linnet] at Little Fransham [on the A47 twixt Swaffham & Dereham] on Wednesday 25th November 2026. This has just reopened under its new name & deserves a visit from us.
The December 2026 OW 100 club STAR draw will be held at The Queen of Iceni, Riverside Road, Norwich on Thursday 10th December 2026 from noon, when we will be joining the “60’s bunch“ for their annual Christmas get together.
